Free assignment tracker

An assignment tracker for college, ready before you sign up.

Add work by hand or paste the sheet you already keep. Everything below is live and free — nothing is saved anywhere until you decide to save it, and no account is needed.

Start from the sheet you already keep

In Google Sheets or Excel, select your assignment rows with the header row, copy, and paste them here. Nothing is saved until you have checked the columns and the dates.

What this page does

The tracker, not a tour of the tracker.

Every column your sheet has

Due date, class, type, assignment, completed, notes — the columns nearly every student spreadsheet uses — plus priority, points, estimate and status when you want them. Turn columns on and off from the list view.

Grouped by week, without merged cells

The list groups itself into weeks — the thing people build by hand in Sheets with banner rows — and keeps it correct when a date moves.

Overdue is hard to miss

Anything late is marked in the table, the list and the board. There is no configuration for this — it is the point of a tracker.

Starting from a file? Get the assignment tracker template, or read how to bring across a Google Sheets or Excel tracker. Every import rule is written out on how importing works.

About this assignment tracker

Is this assignment tracker free?

Yes. The tracker, all four views, unlimited classes and assignments, importing with a change preview, and CSV and calendar export are free and do not need an account.

Where is my data stored if I do not sign in?

In your browser's local storage, on this device only. It is not sent to a server. Clearing your browser data or using a different device means starting again — which is exactly why the save-to-account option exists.

How many assignments can I add?

There is no limit and there is no free-tier task cap. Some free planners stop you at five tasks; this one does not.

Is there a phone app?

Not a store app, but you can install StudyRows on your home screen: in Safari tap Share, then Add to Home Screen; on Android, Chrome offers Install app. It opens full-screen from its own icon. With an account the plan is saved to the server, so your phone and laptop show the same work.

Can I get my assignments into Google Calendar?

Yes, two ways. For free, download the .ics file from the toolbar and import it into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook; importing an updated file updates the events instead of duplicating them. With the Automation plan you can subscribe to a live calendar feed instead: unfinished work appears in your phone's calendar with an alert before each deadline, and changes you make in StudyRows follow automatically.

What does the paid plan add?

Scheduled email reminders, a live calendar feed for Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar with phone alerts, and full change history — restoring any past edit or undoing any earlier import. The Automation plan is free during the beta, $5/month after. The tracker itself stays free, and so does re-importing an updated sheet with a change preview.
